**************************************************************************************

We just received this screengrab from a site visitor of Ridley telling authors at RWA that if they join any of her groups, she will destroy them:

DestroyYou1 copy

This is a perfect example of the behavior and attitude of Ridley and her GR friends towards authors.

More on Ridley

Here’s another post we published on Ridley on July 7, 2012, after she caused a stir on AAR and Dear Author.

**************************************************************************************

This just in.  We have learned from our sources that Ridley is currently terrorizing the owner of All About Romance blog and her friends, not to mention other commenters of the Dear Author blog.  What did she do?  Well, you can see for yourself (from Sandy’s All About Romance blog):

Then, on the Dear Author blog, Author On Vacation left a lengthy but heartfelt comment about her experience with racism and this is what Ridley had to say to her:

GetYourOwnBlog

And then Author On Vacation responded very politely and Ridley slammed her again:

GoTrollSomewhereElse

Nice lady, isn’t she?  Due to her recent ‘conneries’ as the French would say, we are considering bumping up her toxicity level to DEFCON 1.  Now, do you remember from Stitch’s post that they claim to stay in “their spaces”?  If not, go here and scroll down until you get to Shannon, The Holy Terror’s comment.  It is clear from Ridley’s current misbehaviour that this is simply not true.  They do not stick to their claimed spaces at all, but instead troll the internet looking to stir up trouble and then wonder why people are stalking & talking about them:

Admitting

Oh, poor Ridley.  She was crass, rude and confrontational to people on the web and now she is being stalked.  Don’t we all just feel sorry for her?  Not.

Ridley

Out of all the bullies, we’ve had the most fun with Ridley, being the drama queen that she is.  Below is the original post we published on her on July 6, 2012.

 **************************************************************************************

GR Name: Ridley

Real Name: Brandy G.

Category: Instigator, Minion

Level of Toxicity: DEFCON 2, High Alert, Extremely Toxic

Ridley, a DEFCON 2 GR bully, is another instigator and minion who shares many of the same qualities as The Holy Terror.  Since we mentioned her role in , resulting in his exit from GR, we thought we would feature Ridley on a new blog post, including additional information we found on .

Like Lucy and The Holy Terror, Ridley is notorious for insulting and tormenting authors.  Her treatment of James Austen was one instance of this.  This is another:

InsultToJP1

In this twitter conversation, Courtney Milan is congratulating Jessica Park on making the NYT list and Ridley responds with:

Why are congratulating that reader-harassing asshole?

When Jessica asked Ridley if she would just let it go, Ridley said:

HarassingJP

So, what was Jessica’s horrible crime?  Responding to a review in order to get a few facts straight.  Jessica didn’t attack anyone and she didn’t call anyone names.  As far as we are concerned, that is not a crime and yet the bullies took her words, twisted them around, and began spreading rumors about her that weren’t true.  Rumors that said she was a reader-basher and a badly behaving author.  The GR bullies are famous for doing this and Ridley is just another one of their crew.

Angela Horn

Well, we found out which bully led the onslaught against Sharon Desruisseaux.  This is an author who has been on our BBG list for some time now, so it’s a good thing we can now show you exactly why she’s there.  But before we do, we’d like to show you what she and her “friends” have done to Sharon’s books.  (We write the word “friends” in quotes because these people aren’t real friends.  Not even with each other.  Basically, they’re your friends until you do something accidentally to piss them off, then they blacklist you.)  Anyhow, here are the shelves they created for her book, :

Shelves

And here are the people who shelved her book this way:

Bullies1

Bullies2

Bullies3

Bullies4

Bullies5

Bullies6

Recognize anyone?  Yes, as you may have noticed, it is always the same people.

Now, we discovered Angela was the author attacking Sharon by going down this list of people on Sharon’s book and then reading Angela’s latest .

First off, in the post, she accuses Sharon of writing fake reviews, then proceeds to tell her off, saying that she doesn’t want to be friends.  Just listen to this woman.  Ignorance and hate ooze out of every word she says:

Post1

Then she says:

Post2

So, let us get this straight, Angela.  You’ll blacklist someone you don’t even know, have never met nor had any interaction with simply because one of your “friends” doesn’t like them?  Hmm… *scratches chin*  So… what if your “friend” is in the wrong?  What if your “friend” was just having a bad day and decided to take it out on this particular author?  You’re just going to jump on the bandwagon and blacklist them, too?

You want to know what we think?  We think you need to grow up.  Either that, or go back to high school.  Your actions here are exactly the kind of ignorant, monkey-see-monkey-do behavior that makes GR the sewer that it is, that makes it hard for anyone just to stay off a shitlist:

Post3

You all see that?  Work hard not to get on a shitlist?  Okay, we’re going to pause here for a second.  Let’s think about that.  She has to work hard to stay off a shitlist.  That’s pretty telling.  Why the hell should anyone have to work hard for that?  I mean, unless you’re a complete asshole (which all of the bullies are and all of the people we’ve seen targeted by them are not), then you shouldn’t have to work hard to stay off a shitlist.  Sharon is absolutely right when she says that the bullies’ behavior is petty and juvenile.  They don’t seem to understand that it’s THEIR actions that cause others to take offense and thus respond the way they do.  And then they have the audacity to blame the victims for the drama that they cause:

Post4

Hmm… You got two things wrong here, Angela.  One is that it’s not just the indie world that’s rough.  From talking to writers, we’ve learned that it’s both the indie and traditional worlds put together that are rough.  And it’s not because of people like Sharon.  It’s because of bullies like you.

On our last post, we received this comment from Goronwy:

*sigh* here’s another victim I found:

Have a nice day.

Thanks, Goronwy!  The following post was written by Sharon Desruisseaux.  Before we go into it, here it is:

Sharon, we applaud you!  You had a tremendous amount of courage to write this.  And… wow!  Check out Jaq’s comment.  We didn’t know about Neil Gaiman.  That’s huge.

Now, the common misconception, especially among the bullies, is that this is an author vs. reviewer conflict.  Nothing could be farther from the truth.  This conflict is really a victim vs. bully conflict.  You see, many of the bullies we’ve found are authors themselves and on this blog, we’ve shown you several of them (i.e. Looney, Stacia K., Lissa B., Linda H., etc.  For new readers, our posts on these author bullies will be coming soon.)  We even have a new author bully post coming up in the next few weeks (research on this person being done now), so this is rather common.  The bullies are a combination of readers and authors put together.  There is no distinct line between them.  There is, however, a distinct line between the bullies and their victims.  And we’re hoping to show exactly where that line is in order to keep our readers informed.

So… more to come.  Much more to come.
