Before we begin with our post today, we want to share with you a new development on GR. Apparently, GR wants to know how customers rate them:
One of our visitors already filled out the form and had this to say:
I received a GR “survey” today and was happy to tell them my low opinion of their pathetic, anti-writer site. They’ve done nothing less than create a stalking and trolling playground for sociopaths. It’s beyond me what the point of all this mass hatred of writers is. I don’t know if it is fueled by other authors, or just the usual conspiracy of dunces.
Anyway, it’s good to know you guys are here. I think the best way to influence Goodreads is to stop using their site completely. Those of us who do well with Amazon may want to see if we can influence things on that side of the great divide. Beyond that, I think GR is a lost cause.
If any of our readers want to join in and let GR know what you think, just click on this link. We’ve also posted a link to the survey on our sidebar.
Now, on to business…
In our last post, GR Silences Authors, Part 1, we showed you the story of an author who spoke out against the abuse on GR and was banned for it. Now we want to show you the whiny feedback discussion started by , one of the bullies on our BBG list.
As you read, please take note of a couple points. One, everything these bullies accuse authors of doing (i.e. stalking and harassing, getting their friends to stalk and harass, etc.) is absolutely false. We never see authors doing this. But! We’ve seen on countless occasions the bullies doing it not just to authors, but to anyone who stands against them. Two, these dumb asses still seem to think the reaction to them is about negative reviews. It’s not. It’s about their vicious and ceaseless personal attacks against others. This is a point they never seem to get. Finally, we have honestly lost track of how many times we’ve caught the bullies in their pious hypocrisy, not to mention their incessant lying. In the from the GR feedback forum, you will see this come out glaringly in their words:
Then Kara responds with this:
We’d like to draw your attention to where she says:
Blog posts on Goodreads that seek to harass or intimidate individual reviewers do violate our Terms of Service and the appropriate action will be taken.
Gosh, that’s funny, Kara, because that’s exactly what Angela did in and yet strangely enough, nothing happened to her post or her account.
Oh, but wait! That’s right! I forgot. She’s one of you, isn’t she? So she can harass anyone she wants and get away with it. Silly me. I should have known.
Anyhow, back to the whiners:
Now at this point, we would tell you why all of this whiny bullshit is so hypocritical, but we don’t have to because Annabeth took the words right out of our mouths:
Well said, Annabeth!
And then the whining continues. Notice how Jim says something very insightful here. Apparently, he gets it — there’s a reason these bullies end up on troll alert lists.
Oh no! He said our name! What are we going to do? We’re supposed to be the blog that shall not be named! 😀
After this ultimate faux pas by Jim, the bullies truly go crazy. Guess he really hit a nerve:
STGRB is vile trash? Why? Because we tell the truth about you?
You notice the outright lies these people tell when our site is mentioned? That we do all of this shit that we’ve never done (also referring to Lucy’s phantom phone caller). This is their usual MO. They’ve been trying to discredit our site ever since we started. By this time, their lies have gotten old.
Finally, after the discussion degenerates into an I-hate-STGRB frenzy, Emily ends the conversation because it has become “unproductive”:
And that’s it!
Whiny, whiny, whiny bullies! They will never grow up.
But in all seriousness, we believe that this is just the beginning to a bigger issue that we see evolving on GR. That is the growing hatred of authors and the silencing of their voices when they try to speak out against the abuse and injustice that is done to them.
I got one of those this is what I said.
I’d like to make a few comments. First never believe it when the troll plays dumb and insists this is about reviews. It is not, I never complained about any review on GR in fact I have never bothered to read any of them. The troll hides behind the review as religions hides behind God, to spread their filth of hatred, intolerance and oppression. The clearly knows where they are doing and clearly knows they are not writing reviews. The entire thread about blogs was started by one of my friends who was stalked to GR from Amazon because he knows me. He merely posted a list of the trolls who had placed all his books, my books, and all my friends book on their abusive lists and giving 1-star no-read reviews, based on lies started by in the Amazon troll wallow about me. He simply posted a list of the people who put all these book on insulting list and 1-stared them. This exposed the troll as a group to GR readers so that can never be allowed. So therefore now all writers pose a real physical threat to them. And in reality they do. Because what they do is criminal stalking, bullying and harassment and exposure of their crimes could very well lead to bad thing happening to them like the police knocking on the door and mommy gets hauled off for cyber-terrorism.
Some of these GR people are pure crackpots. I don’t even believe they read books. We all know this has nothing to do with actual real reviews of any book. Most doc dropping is completely legal and this depends entirely on the information source. I don’t think the majority of these weirdos even know what the term “dox” means.
Who left the asylum door open?
Who left the asylum door open? LMAO!!!!! 😀
I have also found that the DMCA is a joke. The original bill was gelded by the Republican’ts in comittee before the final vote. Any liablility for copyrighted content was removed from the ISPs so there is no penalty for allowing sites hosted on their serves to violate the DMCA. Furthermore most big websites own their own servers so there is no point in complaining to them. there are literally thousands of writers and books represented on the GR site against the wishes of the copyright holders. This makes the goodreads site appear much fuller that it is and thereby enriches them by copyright violations. They told me that they couldn’t remove my profile or books because the feed comes from Amazon. So what? I don’t care. I tested their lie too. I unpublished my book, ‘You Just Might be a Terrorist’. I removed it from Amazon, smashwords and B&N. The book is now unavailable on those sites but is still listed on GB. One has to wonder, how much of goodreads is legitimate and how much is just stolen content?
What they’re telling you is bullshit, Rick. They DO NOT have the right to publish copyrighted material that they do not own. Go to DMCA.com and issue a takedown. When you do, they will be forced to remove your material. Read this: https://stopthegrbullies.com/2013/04/25/gr-copyright-part-2/
I sent them a take down notice and DMCA.com sent them one. They flatly refused to remove my content.
STGRB paid for the DMCA.con take down notices and DMCA said they couldn’t do anything and gave a
refund. They claim fair use. How can it be fair use to post copyrighted material, against the copyright
holder’s wishes, in a hostile environment where it is under attack and that every day it is posted there it
causes damages to my reputation, career and livelihood? I called the copyright office and asked them about
it. They would not even tell me the federal agency that prosecutes criminal copyright infringement but kept repeating I should get a lawyer. When asked why, as a victim of a crime I was expected to pay to get the law enforced, they hung up. I believe the copyright laws are a farce and only apply to huge corporations when
they want to extort each other. As far as the little guy they are completely ineffectual and are a pay to
enforce joke.
Did you call these people?

Rick, if you’ve removed your books from Amazon and GR is still refusing to remove your copyrighted material, it is time to sue them. I would hire a lawyer at this point.
Clobber their asses, Rick.

I haven’t tried this site myself, but it might be worth the two hundred bucks to have the professionals step in.
We know several authors who have done it and it worked.
Yes. In the end, it’s never really about the books at all. It’s about a bunch of would-be authors on Goodreads who are seeing a whole wave of real authors finishing their books, publishing them, and finding readers. People like Melissa Douthit and countless others are getting their books into the hands of readers, while the wannabes on Goodreads sit and stew and look for opportunities to sabotage the real authors. They won’t read these authors’ books, but they will use absolutely any excuse, no matter how flimsy, to proclaim to the world that the books they won’t read are horrifically bad and that their authors are horrible human beings, and they’ll have the other hyenas in their pack do the same thing.
It’s envy, and envy can make people do some very destructive things.
Bingo.
That’s a very good point about reading or reviews. Not one of the trolls I am battling have read any of my books so how could this possibly be about reviews?
I want to thank STGRB and Athena for helping me get my books away from the goodreads trolls. I just checked and I no longer come up in the search. Thanks so much for all the support and the help.
Which search do you mean?
Did you guys notice that Anne S. is on their BBA list on GRs? So is Angela. It’s like the baby sharks that eat each other in their mother’s womb. Wow.
Coaxial (Slutty Robot Pants) recently shitlisted Nenia Campbell. Meh.
They do this quite often actually.
