You all remember Linda, right?  The crazy bully author who parades around Amazon as Tansy Gold, leaving five-star reviews on her own books?  At the same time, she attacks other authors and their books after she sends the Dear Author gremlins on witch hunts after “misbehaving” authors whom she accuses of sock-puppetry and of leaving glowing reviews on their books (old posts on this to come).

Yes, yes, we know.  This is typical bully fashion — to always accuse others of what they themselves are guilty.  Their hypocrisy never fails to show itself.  But this time, she makes the ultimate faux pas just as Stephanie did and the Amazon trolls — she harassed a reviewer.  And she did it in a .  Below are the shots we got of the conversation.  We are currently reporting Linda to GR for attacking a reviewer.  We encourage others to do the same.

At this point, nothing further needs to be said, so we’ll let the screenshots do the talking:

We apologize in advance for posting something that will more than likely either render our readers violently sick or send them off into a state of eternal comatose.  But… it can’t be helped.  What are we talking about?  Kat’s recent post bragging about being in the top %1 of all reviewers on GR (as if this is really something to brag about).

Don’t let Kat’s sarcasm fool you.  She and Stephanie really do believe they are the queen badasses of Goodreads.  In reality, what they really are, are two silly, young girls who have A LOT of growing up to do.  Actually silly isn’t strong enough of a word.  More like immature, conceited, abusive, vindictive, self-righteous and hypocritical (as in this post where Stephanie humiliates a reviewer).  If anyone can think of any other choice adjectives to describe them, feel free to leave a comment.

So, what do we think of Kat’s news?

Well, we think it’s a very indicative of the site itself that it selects reviewers who can’t even spell President Obama’s name correctly as the top 1% — the “elite” reviewers.  So, according to GR: the GR elite = people who can’t spell.

It’s BARACK Obama, Kat.  One R.  Not two.

But in all seriousness, what we think is that GR is indeed one sorry ass site if it considers Kat to be among the elite.

As for their top 1%, here’s the truth about the membership numbers on Trollreads.  Although the site boasts millions of members, in all actuality, only a very small percentage of those “millions” are active users of the site.  You see, the majority of the members create accounts, then leave and forget about them, never using them again.  This isn’t even mentioning all the multiple accounts created by single users (socks).

Kat and her cronies are part of the large group of people on GR known as the GR bullies or the GR trolls who write and like one another’s reviews so that they appear at the top of book pages.  They engineer this on purpose and their behavior toward authors (and other reviewers, see Linda Harasses Reviewer) has grown more and more outrageous over the years.  As the trolls continue their antics, the small number of actual users on the site dwindles (as even one of our biggest offenders, Wendy Darling, states in this screenshot).

So, whenever you read or hear these misleading “statistics” about GR, usually in some paid-for, promotional article like this or this, don’t believe it.  The numbers are so grossly skewed, even the United States Congress would have a hard time cooking them.
