Jane Litte of Dear Author strikes again! We were just recently tipped off by anon-a-bus in this comment:
I don’t know if you’ve seen it yet, but Jane Litte has a post up that’s out of character even for her this time. She’s now making claims…not alleging…that STGRB is luring reviewers into contests in order to dox them. Mabye I got that wrong. I’m not sure. But you might want to check that out.
Anon-a-bus is right. Now it seems Jane is spreading the rumor around that we are organizing a group of authors to run contests to obtain readers private information so we can dox them. In her accusation, she includes a screenshot of Rick Carufel’s blog:
The fact that she’s trying to pin this on us is a sign of how desperate she’s getting.
Try again, Jane. If this is something that involves Rick Carufel, we are definitely not involved. Rick was banned from our blog a while back, which we talked about in a previous post, denouncing his mission to hack into private accounts and publish people’s information.
You got it wrong again, Jane. We’d appreciate it if you could stick to the facts.
Seems like fear-mongering to me.
What I don’t get is her intent? Maybe she’s just mad because Goodreads isn’t budging on their new policy…..and she’s trying to stir the pot up? Really don’t see what this will accomplish…..
What’s new? Jane is always trying to stir the pot because that makes her blog and uninteresting life fun again. Getting the facts right doesn’t seem very important to her either.
Maybe she’s trying to scare people from participating in giveaways. How she would benefit is unclear. Is she perhaps running rival giveaways?
This is typical of all material that’s published at dearauthor. The entire web site is geared to manipulate the average reader with or without real facts.
Unfortunately for her, she’s not a journalist and much of what she does “report” (I use that word loosely) is either misinformation, or dead wrong. You can go from one end of that blog to the other and find issues with her “reporting.” For example, today she posted about pumpkin pie spice not having any pumpkin in it. That’s a very silly topic, admittedly, however, she’s misinforming her readership about pumpkin pie spice. Pumpkin pie spice is not supposed to have pumpkin in it. Pumpkin pie *spice* is blend of spices that is supposed to enhance the flavor of pumpkin because pumpkin, like Jane Litte, is bland and dull

OMG! Is she serious? Let’s just assume here that Jane isn’t much of a baker either. Wow.
The woman is ridiculous. Here’s a thought. Maybe she could actually start reviewing books – honestly and fairly – this time. But I guess there’s not enough drama in actual, honest book reviewing.
But that’s too hard. See, you have to actually READ books and then formulate coherent thoughts about it. Where’s the fun in that?
LMAO! Took the words right out of my mouth.
Also, I’ve done plenty of free book giveaways and the only thing you receive is the winner’s name and address. Who in their right mind would go after a reader or even a pesky troll that’s harassed them in that respect? Obviously it’s the trolls who are obsessed with us… not the other way around.
Exactly correct. No one in their right mind would.
I think she has a new GR profile
They just can’t accept that Goodreads really doesn’t want them there anymore, at least not as trolls. They’re scheming and missing the ‘good old days’.
But it’s over.
I am pretty much convinced that Amazon was behind this, and Amazon doesn’t budge on some things, even under public pressure (not that the trolls could really garner any.)
The best the trolls can hope for, at this point, is to become annoyances to the Goodreads staff. But I think they are so deeply invested in their troll activities, that they may settle for that.
Ah, look at that. They’re all sneakin’ back in. Gee. What. A. Surprise. We’ve seen some others do this, too, like Barbara what’s-her-bucket.
Which name does she go by now?
I think Barbara Lindt Ninja. She changed it back. I dunno. Maybe Andrew doesn’t love her anymore?
Awww…isn’t that cute? She just couldn’t stay away.
