Before we get into today’s post, we want to mention a case of reviewer bullying that was brought to our attention just recently. Yes, we do call out authors when they bully reviewers. We’ve done it several times in the past like in the cases of the attack on Lizzy Lessard and the attack on Kriss Morton (which fortunately had a happy ending). As far as we’re concerned, bullying goes both ways. We all know that authors get bullied on GR all the time, but so do reviewers and in this case, an author went crazy and attacked several legitimate reviews that weren’t even one-stars. Unfortunately, we were too late on the scene and everything was deleted before we could get any shots, but that was targeted and one reviewer who was bullied into actually removing her review. Needless to say this author isn’t on GR anymore and we’re not surprised. We ask all authors out there to NOT respond to bad reviews. If you are someone who reacts badly to critical reviews, the best thing for you to do is to stay off of GR.
Now, getting back to the topic of our post…
We LOVE the UK! If only the US was as progressive as the UK on the subject of internet trolling, but alas, the US is woefully behind.
This article discusses how just recently, the UK is warning all internet trolls to expect arrest if they bully, harass, threaten, etc. anyone online. Just like you can’t walk down the street and do that, you can’t do it online either:
