Ever since the Guardian’s article about Anne Rice signing (which is the topic of our next post):
Protect Amazon.com Users and Indie Publishing Authors from Bullying and Harassment by Removing Anonymity and Requiring Identity Verification for Reviewing and Forum Participation
It appears as though Amazon is listening and has taken a few measures. We’ve just received word from several authors that Amazon has been removing some obvious troll reviews from their books. We were also tipped off to this on well known troll Debbie S.’s BookLikes blog:
And this from Edward L.’s BookLikes blog:
We’re hoping this is an early sign that many more positive changes on Amazon are coming. Let’s keep our fingers crossed!
In any case, one of the nastier trolls doesn’t seem too pleased and has vowed that she is quitting:
And how do we feel about this?
Nuff said.

Moonlight Reader is quitting. What a tragedy! So, so sad.
Don’t let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out, MR! 😀
It seems to me this was their attitude back in September when they told Goodreads they had had enough and were threatening a “mass exodus”. GR was like, “Okay, bye.” How self-important these people are.
Troll reviewers seem to have a bad case of “inflated self importance in a sea of obscurity.” They need a reality check. Their snarky troll reviews won’t be missed.
These abusive, sociopathic, illiterate imbeciles have a lot of nerve thinking a) anyone CARES what they think about books; and b) anyone CARES about their opinions when they don’t even bother reading the books. Did I mention “illiterate”? They are simply attackers and abusive mentally ill people who prey on those who create beauty–because they have none. Goodbye! Good riddance!
That’s right. When their only objective for being there is to target and attack an author, there is no purpose to them. They might as well quit and do something useful with their time. They’re efforts are worthless.
Sounds promising! Happy to see some positive changes for my Indie Friends!
I love it! I’m with the cheering crowd for Moonlight Reader quitting and Amaranth (one of my consistent 1-star awarders) being deleted. Go Amazon!
I just perused through my reviews (of which I’ve created a modest 27) and, hmmm, none of them are missing. Isn’t that interesting?
