We’re sure by now you all know the story behind Avery Duncan and the author she attacked. If you don’t, here’s a recap.
Avery Duncan (aka Daqri Combs, Diebitch, Amethyst, Catcul81, Jamie Saxton, and Veni) stalked, harassed, and sent her brute squad after an innocent author which was an attack that continued for two years. We showed you evidence of this in A Story of Real Author Bullying. We also showed evidence of her recent carpet bombs and gave information on her run-in with the police in Carpet Bomber #10, Avery Duncan. Then, in An Update on Avery Duncan, we showed her claim to having changed for the better, despite not having apologized to the author she attacked, nor having removed her carpet bombs from her books, and we showed how she sent her thugs to our site to attack us.
In this post, we want to show you a comment left on our blog, threatening to “ruthlessly and relentlessly target” and carpet bomb innocent authors (and readers) who have nothing to do with any of this:
You see, this is the kind of people we are dealing with. And this is the kind of treatment the victimized author had to suffer for two years. According to Avery’s friends/fans/followers, it is just fine for her to stalk, harass, and carpet bomb another author without apologizing or removing her fake ratings from her book, but heaven forbid anyone should bring attention to her bullying, because if they do, she and her friends will attack innocent people and “ruthlessly and relentlessly target” them.
Wow! Just wow!
This sounds a lot like another author we know, right? Good ol’ Nenia Campbell who threatened to carpet bomb (and made good on her threat) the books of authors who were completely innocent of her accusations. And she did it just to protest an anti-bullying policy that Goodreads had announced. Yes, lower than low. And this person who calls her/himself Warning is no better. Worse, in fact.
Guess what, Warning. We have your IP address and we are taking it to the police so they can trace it and find out who you are. Then, we are giving that information to anyone you stalk, harass, and “ruthlessly and relentlessly target”.
So… you might want to rethink your threat. It would definitely be in your best interest.
Johnny out.

You guys are doing very important work. Don’t forget that.
Thank you, AW! We thought we’d get harassed, but we never expected a threat like this. The police will be very interested in this.
*claps* good job
This article right here should be the very first thing you should link to if you find somebody online who insists that the complaints about authors being bullied is entirely about authors being unable to handle legitimate criticism of real flaws in their books. This isn’t about authors who can’t bear to hear that their books are poorly written. It’s about amateur reviewers who have huge chips on their shoulders and are only too eager to escalate a disagreement into a full-blown online war — like this lunatic. It’s about book-rage addicts who apparently like strife and conflict a lot more than they like reading.
Ditto Karig.
This lady has a few screws loose. If you don’t stand back while they bully authors and post fake one star reviews then they will post more fake one star reviews. Paired with their claim that they don’t post fake one star reviews and that authors are just being overly sensitive about genuine negative criticisms that is supposedly not a personal attack of any kind.
Makes total sense. Not.
It is people like this that take the joy out of reading for me. I am sure it also takes the joy out of writing for authors.
Incriminating yourself on a public forum is not good. I know that if Johnny said they contacted the police, then they did. WOW!
Wow is right!
What a waste of time. I just had an awesome Mother’s Day and an awesome night with the husband. (Rawr
) These idiots have no idea what a fulfilling, happy life is. They’re too busy hating people they don’t even know.
Same here. I had a wonderful Mother’s Day. I feel sorry for these idiots. They really don’t know what a happy life is.
Warning is the kind of person who makes it glaringly obvious that there are people with SERIOUS mental health issues posing as ‘book reviewers.’ I can’t believe anyone would read his/her message and not realize that the author bullying phenomenon is as bad as you say.
She ["Warning"] isn’t scary like she thinks. She’s just an idiot. Let her carpet bomb books, readers aren’t dumb and they know when a “reviewer” is an irrelevant moron and troll. Still, I don’t blame you for contacting police. She should be locked up in a psych ward.
Also, here’s a translation of her message: zomg I’m so awesome and I’m better than you and I got 100000000000 friends and I’m gonna bring you down so you better be careful or I’m gonna kick your @$$ and anyone else’s that says the truth about my friendzzzzzzz!!! and thats a promize not a warning!!!
Hahaha! That’s it in a nutshell, Mesay. You have summed her “threat” up perfectly.
