Big surprise!  We’ve found yet another sock account that was created for the sole purpose of carpet bombing books.  In our last Carpet Bombers post, Carpet Bomber #12, Gillian Walsh, we showed you how it is we know that these accounts are fake and this one, , is exactly the same.  But before we begin, we want to answer the question as to why we even started our Carpet Bombers series in the first place and why we bring attention to accounts that leave fake one-star ratings and reviews on books.  The reason is simple.  Because this kind of activity undermines the integrity of review databases and of online reviewing as a whole.  It’s a despicable practice that we hope someday will be eradicated from sites like Goodreads and Amazon.  Until then, we will keep blogging about it until something is done.

Just like the last Carpet Bombers post, this account has an empty profile with no picture and an extremely low average rating, 1.30.  It also has a huge number of one-star carpet bombs, 511 to be exact:

511

This account was created in August of 2013 and yet “Nikki” hasn’t connected with any friends yet:

NoFriends

Tinally, her shelves consist mostly of one-star ratings:

So, again, we ask our readers to join us in reporting these fake accounts so we can help clean up the GR database.
