Over the years, STGRB has grown. What was once just an idea sparked by the oppression of others has grown to become a major player in the fight against online bullying. But with this growth comes an addition of new challenges. We now have more active members commenting on our articles than at any time since our operation began. And herein lies one of our new challenges: moderating these comments.
We would like to remind our readers that STGRB does not tolerate discriminatory comments against any individual on the basis of race, religion, country of origin, sexuality, gender, appearance, etc. We also do not tolerate aggressive and/or disrespectful comments directed toward any members or regular readers of our site. However we have recently been finding ourselves deleting comments from repeat violators.
Therefore, we’re implementing a new warning system. Those who leave comments against our guidelines will be given a warning. Repeat offenders will be given a second warning, and on the third warning, your IP will be banned from our blog. We’d like to remind everyone to keep their comments constructive: attack the behavior, not the characteristics of the individual.
Thank you for understanding.

This really made me smile. Honestly, it’s been getting too hectic here lately. I’m glad STGRB is finally devoting more time towards moderating and managing its comments section. It’s a shame how people are constantly undermining the work you do because of a few bad eggs in the comments section.
We’ve needed more moderation around here for a while.
WOW! This is sad that people are doing something like this. Yes, everyone is entitled to an opinion, but to make rude or derogatory comments about someone else because of something posted here.
Wondering if we humans will ever know peace in my lifetime.
Please people remember just because someone is different than you (or what you know) do not give you any right to comment on their appearance. You never know when a nice comment to someone could make their day or save their life!
LOVE NOT HATE! Spread the word. Keep the movement going!
Good move, STGRB! Some of the comments I’ve seen lately had even me cringing, but at least they’re gone now. I think we all need to remember how to be decent even when we do get angry at these online jerks who try to ruin lives. It becomes too easy to slip into the same jerk mode as them and lower ourselves to their level. Thanks for reminding us to stay above it!
By the way, your facebook page is gone. WTF?
Thanks, Anon. Yeah, our FB page is gone. Athena didn’t have time to supervise it and some of the conversations on it were getting out of hand.
Yes, I guess you guys are really busy. I know STGRB has been a popular blog from the start, wherever I go on the internet I see people chatting about STGRB. And I imagine even more people have started following STGRB since, Anne Rice, shared links to your blog posts. You must get a lot of traffic. This is a great blog, you deserve all of the support that you are getting. STGRB has brought about positive change to places like Goodreads etc. Its only the author hating, cyber bullies who don’t like STGRB. Funnily enough, they seem to spend more time on here then your fans do. LOL! The trolls hate STGRB, yet they never stop talking about STGRB. Its quite fascinating!
BTW, Anne Rice is an amazing, beautiful, intelligent woman. Its so great to see her standing firmly against cyber bullies.
Bravo! Thanks STGRB! This is why I support this blog. You understand the importance of being fair. I agree 100%. You guys have been through so much in the last few years. The attempts to discredit this site and what you have been trying to do has been wrought with trial and error. However, you are honest with your readers and have always been. Keep going strong! I will always support your cause.
I’m always spreading good Karma.
I respect your decision on this and I know the problem. On my FB page I have no choice but to delete some comments and ban some posters. I do not want to do this, but it becomes necessary. I welcome differing opinions and discussion. But when people make direct accusations against others, when they repeat those accusations, and the accusations are highly personal and cannot be investigated or authenticated in any way, the posts can become disruptive. They are also potentially defamatory. Name calling, lecturing, condemnation, and direct insults — is also disruptive. I don’t think we can nourish a healthy environment for intelligent and productive discussion unless we impose some guidelines and some limits. And it’s worth noting that if Amazon enforced its stated guidelines much of the “bully problem” on Amazon might be completely resolved. Thanks for all you do.
Hear, hear, Anne! If Amazon indeed enforced their own guidelines (in many areas), it would be a much nicer place to be. As it is, Amazon can be a very unfriendly place for authors, which is really mind boggling considering how much $$ authors are making for Amazon. How much do the trolls make Amazon? Yep, that’s right. Zip.
Thanks for taking a stand on this issue. An author of your caliber has really made the community stand up and take notice.
Keep up the great work, and keep writing those great books!
Bravo! I’m made my position known here and elsewhere, that making ‘personal comments’ about people, even *those* people, is unacceptable and lowers the tone. Good to see a clean-up here.
For me, there is a significance difference between 1)a website researching problems surrounding an individual’s publicly posted reviews and internet comments and reporting the results of that research — and 2) calling people names, insulting them, belittling and seeking to defame them. I’m satisfied at this juncture that STGRB does valuable and important research on the people they describe on this site. And I do think all websites are entitled to delete comments or posts from those who simply make unsubstantiated charges against others and express contempt and dislike, etc.
Thank you, Anne.
Hot current Attack on author Elle Davis going on here.
Thanks! We’re looking into it now.
