We are happy to announce that Goodreads has recently gotten a little bit safer for it’s authors and readers. Notorious bully, Jennifer:
Is no longer there. Why? Because GR removed the “not interested” button on sponsored books (Dammit!) *sarcasm*
Hmm… *scratches chin*
Well, perhaps for Jennifer that was just the last straw in a whole list of policy changes that GR has made this past year, many of which appear to be taking more and more power away from the bullies.
She’s right, Amazon doesn’t know how to run one. … But for a totally different reason. If they knew how, they would have kicked these bullies out a long time ago.
Good she’s gone though.
Glad to see another trollbully just bit the dust! Good riddance to you Bully Jennifer and don’t let the digital door hit you in the @@@ on the way out!
Wow! Doesn’t take much to set her off! Hey, wasn’t Mahala banned from Goodreads? How did she get back on? Spare Ammo is the name of her blog and now, apparently, her new user name at Goodreads. I wonder why she didn’t change her profile pic. I also wonder why she snuck back on to a site that she claims to hate.
I guess I just don’t get it. The button is there, but you first have to click the link before you can ignore it?
If it’s bad enough to click a button to ignore it, it’s bad enough to click another button first. But if you have to click only one button, or NO BUTTONS, to like it, or to not hate it, is that such a crime?
I think I’ve now become the victim of haters, but I don’t mind. With all of their down votes, more people are looking at my reviews, and that has brought my rank up by over 10000 in a month. Thank You, Haters.
I assume this is because Amazon gives reviewers credit for ALL ATTENTION that they get, good and bad. If someone is voted down, there must be a good reason, so people read up on the person with the negative ratings.
I know when I’m reading reviews on anything before purchase, I look at the 4’s down to the 1’s. The 2’s to 4’s give an idea of the fixable problems, and the 1’s give an idea of the hatred. Then, I’ll glance at the 5’s to see how they make me feel.
Anyway, to the bullies who have decided that I am not [edited out by admin] (the latest accusation is that I am [edited out by admin], I say, “thank you” because he was my mother’s favorite actor on Bonanza and on Highway to Heaven. What was his last movie?
I pretty much rule out anything 2 and below, and 4 and above. I think that’s a safer bet, even the ones “hated” by the goodreads reviewers that can’t seem to grasp when an authors beliefs have no baring on the MC.
There is enough lolcat pictures from carpet bombers, I pretty much toss those out as part of the margin of error.
Doesn’t that kind of mean they didn’t remove the not interested button? It’s clever wordplay and narrative spinning on the GR bullies part, but there is nothing under the surface with it. I think saying it’s misleading is generous here.
