Well, it appears as though Jane Litte of Dear Author has agreed to settle the case with Ellora’s Cave. In a recent post, she has come clean on the falsities that she published on September 14 (not 16), 2014. She says:
We’re glad to see her finally doing the right thing and hope that this will be a good lesson learned for her and others who relish in libeling others and/or smearing their reputations online for fun or personal gain.
She “got it wrong”? She “got it wrong”?
Ohhhkay.
Great article. I am so glad to see this. So very glad.
I appreciate your following up on this.
Thanks for the follow up. I’d been wondering what happened.
I hope this does bring in a new “era” for everyone concerned.
So, she “got it wrong”… Nice try. It’s not a lot to her apology, but I’m guessing this was the bare minimum the lawyers managed to force her to. With how long that original article was, her apology should be a whole lot more wordy and extensive. But with what we know about Jane Litte (or Little as I’ve taken to dub her), I’m guessing this apology cost a lot of blood and tears and foul words. But then again, better than nothing…
“Got it wrong.” Yes, it should read, “LIED.” In all caps. She knew what she was doing when she wrote that post and it wasn’t an innocent mistake on her part. We all know that.
You’re damned straight she lied – she lied maliciously.
She got away with it for so many years. In her mind, I think she thought she could say anything. What a brilliant lawyer she must be. Dragging someone through the mud publically with absolutely no backlash. I’m so glad she got what was coming to her.
Interesting so there is more to this story then. I kind of suspected it wasn’t completely legit.

I think their pod cast is interestingly timed. Cause it happens so soon after the whole Jane Litte news comes to the fore. While my assumption is the review in this case isn’t anything like Jane Litte, it just seems weird to me.
Pity so many people were duped into giving her money. Notice how she went on about how much more the fees were than what was donated. Wonder how many more naive people will donate to help her cover the rest? This is a good lesson in investigating situations like this before you start throwing money at it.
After being exposed as a secret author, and lying to everyone, and now this, we doubt anyone is going to be giving her any money.
Sadly, there is always someone out there soft enough to feel sorry for her and send her their hard earned money. She’s a leech, and leeches always find someone who’s willing to give them blood.
Yes, absolutely correct! And now all the #notchilled hangers-on are trying DESPERATELY to find anything and everything to convince (mainly themselves) that Jane was telling the truth. Yeeeaaaaah–uhm, I’m pretty sure that people are smart enough to deduce that Jane Litte was court ordered to retract her LIES.
Feels good to finally see something being done about defamation against others.
Yes. I agree. I was recently checking that out and I’m amazed at how much of a spin they put on the entire case. Sometimes there is just one bottom line. Jane admitted in her update that she posted misinformation about EC. The woman admitted this herself, in writing, whether she was ordered to do this or not. And when a blogger who considers herself a “journalist” does something like this it all comes down to a few things, two of which are irresponsible blogging or questionable intentions. I’m not even going to try to judge any of it. I only see the bottom line, and Jane admitted she was wrong. That’s a fact.
Looks like she paid $$$$$ for *getting it wrong*. It’s about time. She’s been at this a long, long time. There was a price to pay. I am very happy about this. This couldn’t have happened to a more DESERVING person. Carry on Jane/Jennifer/Jen.
IM SOOOOOOO GLAD SHE HAD TO PAY ALL THAT MONEY. FINALLY GOT WHAT SHE DESERVED FOR YEARSSSSSSS OF LIESSSSSS!!!! She deserved that and worse.
