Category: Bullied Author

We were just recently tipped off to this Facebook post by an author who was bullied on Amazon to a degree that we haven’t yet seen.  Down-rating a book to “punish” an author, calling the author a b**** or other derogatory names, or even making efforts to destroy their career are bad enough, but this is just unacceptable (we’ve blacked out certain parts to protect author identity):

Harassed

Reviews such as these need to be flagged and reported to Amazon right away.  This kind of author bullying should never be tolerated.

We’ve been meaning to write this post for a while.  Sorry we are so late in doing it.

In our last post on Anne Rice, we showed you how she has been lighting up the Amazon fora with her wisdom and advice for authors.  We also mentioned her unfortunate encounter with the bullies :

Note her Warning to Authors at the bottom.  Unfortunately, like everyone else who has braved the discussion threads of Amazon, Anne too has noticed the hostility and general contempt that the AFT (Amazon Fora Trolls) have for authors.  In fact, we published some of her comments on this topic in our post, Words of Wisdom From Anne Rice.

So… do you think she got attacked for her warning?  You bet.

Has she stopped posting and offering her advice to authors?  Nope.

In fact, she has responded to the trolls with such sophistication and eloquence, it seems they don’t really know how to respond to her.  She’s too smart and trolls tend to be … well … not so smart.

In our post today we’ll show just how smart she is.  She was immediately able to see right through the Amazon bullies and make intelligent observations that get right to the heart of the matter and reveal these nasty people for who and what they are: internet trolls.  What’s more, she managed to isolate all of the most well-known trolls who stalk authors and their books simply because they have nothing better to do with their time.

First we’ll show you her general view of the Amazon bullies:

AnneOnBullies1

AnneOnBullies2

Next, her exchanges with Anna Karenina, the most prolific AFT in the fora who thinks a little too highly of herself and her self-appointed intellectual prowess.

And here is her exchange with Cathyr:

Her exchange with Jane:

With Lady Lucretia

And finally, with Mayhem or Moonlight Reader or whoever:

AtoMAreUAnAuthor

AnneToMayhem

It is interesting to note how she keeps asking them what they’re doing in the MOA (Meet Our Authors) forum.  She is right.  They have no reason to be there and yet they keep coming back to harass her, revealing their true intentions: to seek and destroy.

Anne, like the rest of us, has also found it astounding that the bullies think authors are like children who are to be scolded and talked down to when they “misbehave” according to some inane and entirely bully-invented rule that the authors should have automatically known:

Babies1

Babies2

WhoDoYouThinkYouAre

She also happens to notice a few more important facts about the Amazon bullies: that they are small but loud, that they consider themselves self-appointed gatekeepers, that they attack customers as well as authors, that they twist words, that they game the system, that they can’t take criticism, and that they create a destructive climate on the Amazon fora:

MinisculeGang

SelfAppointedGatekeepers

AbuseCustomersToo

TwistingWords

GameTheSystem

BullyReviewersCantTakeCriticism

DestructiveClimate

But by far her most insightful observation about them is that not only are they so sure of their own superiority that they disrespect authors, they don’t even view authors as human beings:

AuthorsHumanBeings

And a perfect example of this “authors aren’t human beings” mentality can be seen quite clearly in Miss Mayhem’s words:

AuthorsPeopleML

Uh… she thinks authors are just like people?  She thinks?  She doesn’t know?

Gosh, you know, I think the pope may be Catholic, but I’m not quite sure.  He does this and he does that, just like a Catholic.  So I think he’s Catholic, but I’m still not quite sure.

*major eye roll*

What?  Can’t you tell, Miss Mayhem or Moonlight Reader or whatever you’re calling yourself these days?  Of course, authors are just like people!  They ARE people!

Anyhow… that’s it for today.  That’s Anne Rice on the bullies of Amazon.  So… what does she think of GR?

AnneNeverGoNearGR

It says something that the bad press on Goodreads has had such a far reach that even literary superstars like Anne will have nothing to do with it.  You see, although Goodreads has attempted in recent months to clean up its site, for many out there it was too little, too late.  Its reputation as a legit and professional review site is shattered.  As one of our blog readers stated:

GR booted most of the main trolls that had taken over their site. They even cracked down on their shelving and fake ratings. Unfortunately they acted too late and tarnished their reputation beyond repair. As for the bookraging trolls, they went out with last years garbage. Now they just complain and whine a lot or make fake accounts. They appear to lack the fundamental gift given to all lifeforms on earth – a life.

Quite right, Anonymous.  Quite right.

This just in:

Interesting

Okay, so this is going to amaze all of you, but Stephanie, one of the notorious GR bullies, just wrote a showing the world how she and her friends humiliated another blogger/reviewer and then created a major shitstorm, blaming an author for everything.  She actually believes that an author went to the trouble of creating a bunch of fake profiles to trick her and her pals into reviewing her book.

HowToTrickBloggers

Sorry, Steph, but you got that backwards.  Your blog isn’t badass.  It’s just ass bad.  Delusions of grandeur are clouding your judgment here.  How do we know this?  Because no one is going to be this desperate to get their book reviewed on your crap blog.

Okay, so… how did this all start?  It’s a long story, but it boils down to this: a reviewer befriended Steph on GR.  It appears that this reviewer was doing her best to make friends, innocently assuming the people (i.e. GR bully trolls) were honest and trustworthy.  (Cough!  Cough!  If only we’d been there to set her straight, poor thing.)

Then, Steph set her up:

Screenshot1

Screenshot2

Screenshot3

The scene in the book that Steph mentions was a fabrication:

MadeUpFakeScene

Melody didn’t know that she was being set up.  She was just trying to fit in.  I think many of our blog readers who’ve once been friends with these jerks can relate.

And then… and then… Steph doesn’t stop there.  She accuses an author of being this blogger/reviewer who is trying to befriend her just so she can get her book noticed by the trolls at Cuddlebuggery.  I know, OMG, right?  In fact, she accuses the author of making multiple fake accounts (hmm, gee, where have we heard about this before?  Oh, I don’t know, maybe from every single bully attack we’ve ever documented on our blog).  And she makes these accusations based on… nothing.  She notes a few reviews, likes and comments, but there is no solid evidence that this reviewer is an author pretending to be a reviewer.  It’s absolutely insane.

So, you’re probably wondering, why is there no evidence?  Because Melody is not an author.  She is someone completely different.

So then, the accused author calls her out and Steph says:

PlayTheVictim

She’s right about only one thing here:

“After all, everyone knows Goodreads is full of meanies who are out to get authors.”

Wow, you’ve come along way, Steph!  We’re glad you could finally admit that.

Anyhow, we checked this author’s page on GR and it appears as if she’s no longer there.  We’ve heard from a few people that she deleted her account and left, like so many authors do when they’ve been attacked for some stupid-ass reason that the bullies make up.

Moral of the story:

You don’t have to do ANYTHING at all to get targeted and attacked by the GR bullies.  You just simply have to be a GR member.

It’s because of shit like this that so many people are fleeing Goodreads.  As one our blog readers said:

Just another reminder to all publishers, authors and everyone else. Don’t create Goodreads accounts. Don’t use Goodreads. Don’t invest in Goodreads. Don’t advertise with Goodreads. Don’t give them your money or time and don’t give the website any credit what-so-ever. It’s a sewer site that breeds trolls and promotes harassment with an accepted, negative atmosphere. You don’t want your books or name associated with any of that.

Facebook and Twitter is a much better source of advertising and social interaction to connect with readers and authors. Time spent on those social networks will grow your brand and expand your audience. Time spent on Goodreads is a risk, let me emphasize that, A RISK, not a reward. People need to understand that.

Amen.

Okay, we already know what you’re thinking: “Which one?”  And you would be right.  There are so many, it’s hard to keep track of them all.  So, Kat, the infamous blogger (and one of our Biggest Offenders) whose known for twisting the truth, giving half the story, and even telling blatant lies just to smear other people’s reputations, has done it again.

(Note: we want to apologize.  We’ve been meaning to post about this for a while.  We just didn’t have the time.  We’re really sorry!)

Now, if any of you haven’t already noticed, Kat’s changed her Buzz Worthy News, Scandalous Scandals posts to what is now called Controversy or Controversies.  And not surprisingly, here are a couple examples (links) where you can see her smearing authors we know, who’ve been victims of the GR bullies abuse in the past: and .  You have to scroll down a bit to read her smear campaign, but trust us, it’s there.  What’s interesting is what Kat says in regards to the headache Amazon’s erroneous email gave Jamie McGuire:

HilariousEnjoyment

You see, they were reveling in Jamie’s misery when all of this happened.  And why do they hate her so much?  Because she succeeded despite them.  She was one of the authors who was viciously attacked last year and yet her book still became a huge success.  Quite a slap in the face for the bullies.  Kudos to Jamie.

For more information, read Beautiful Blunder: Dear Author Strikes Again!

Anyhow, moving on to  we wanted to address this time.  This one was regarding Eve Thomas and what happened to her back in May.  Here is Kat’s version of the story (try not to vomit):

Kat1

Kat2

Kat3

Kat4

Kat5

Kat’s right about only one thing here.  They do need to leave Eve alone.  And Darkwriter is John G., another well-known bully.

Now, if you read Kat’s entire post (and this is not the entire post), it makes it sound like some unknown reviewer, who has no history with Eve whatsoever, gave the book a bad review and Eve suddenly, out of nowhere, freaked out and contacted the police.

Doesn’t it make it sound like that?  And we all know that this is not the case.

What Kat fails to mention is that that review came from a person (Coaxial or All Hail Grimlock, a bookseller whose real name is Shoshana B.) who has been part of a gang (Angela and company) who have been harassing Eve for months.  There is a whole history there (of the attacks on Eve by these people) that Kat just conveniently ignores.

You see, everyone, it all started back in February when Eve tried to apologize for promoting her book on GR and was attacked for her apology.  Then Coaxial threatened to leave scathing reviews of her books without even reading them.  The bullies didn’t stop there.  They crossed the line when they contacted Eve’s charity to try and discredit her and then later began leaving all kinds of psychotic comments on her book page.

So, if Eve went a little crazy this time and freaked out, it was because of this.  It was because these bullies isolated her, cornered her, made her feel paranoid and alone, like an animal caught in a trap, being harried by its captors (just like what Kat did to Rebecca Hamilton and so many others).

So, what did Eve do?  She lashed out.  Then, the GR bullies (with their weapons of choice: the GR fora and their blogs) jumped in with another character assassination saying:

Oh, look, everyone!  This author freaked out over a bad review and contacted the police.  How crazy is that?!

We’ve seen this kind of thing happen to so many people.  It happens far too often and we’re getting sick of it.

Furthermore, Kat makes it sound from the GR email above that Eve was warned several times in the past before her account was deleted.  We know for a fact that she wasn’t and that her account being deleted from GR came totally from left field and had everything to do with what went down with Angela and the Asshat group.  It happened at the exact same time and Angela, being as paranoid as she is, was convinced Eve was behind the info leak that led to her conversation being posted in Asshats Will Be Asshats.  The fact is, Eve had NOTHING to do with that, but Angela was convinced it was her.  THIS is why Eve’s account was removed.  (For more information, see our posts Asshats Will Be Asshats and Something Rotten at the Core of GR).  So, you see, there was something very dirty with what went down that week and it wasn’t because of Eve’s behavior.

Now, we haven’t researched into the .  For all we know, this could be true or it could be completely fabricated.  In any case, it is irrelevant to what happened to her months ago and what happened to her just recently in May.  As far as the book itself is concerned, we won’t make any comment simply due to lack of knowledge, but we will say that how she was treated was wrong and unjust.  It makes us wonder, when all of this was going down, how come none of these self-righteous people (who think so highly of themselves and their “high morals”, i.e. Kat, ., etc.) reached out to Eve with love to try and understand why she was melting down?  If these people are really the good, pious people they think they are, how come they didn’t stop to help another human being who was obviously going through a crisis?

We’ll tell you why.  Because they are bullies.  Plain and simple.

Just recently, we received this message from Bully Watcher:

Have you all seen this?

This author tried to defend a reviewer and that psychotic bitch Angela labeled her BBA!

WTF?

To which Goronwy responded:

I think Angela has reached the meltdown stage. Like all these authors who are so loudly opposed to BBAs, she originally hoped that her stance would attract more readers. When this doesn’t work, they become progressively more aggressive and unhinged until they stop making sense altogether and just scream dementedly in public. Just look at Ann S..

Goronwy’s reference to Looney is correct.  It’s how Looney got her name.  But ever since we showed our readers that she hypocritically broke her own “” several times, she’s suddenly gone silent.  See Sanctimonious Hypocrisy and Bully Wank.

And we’re not complaining!

We think Goronwy is absolutely right.  Why?  We’ll let you read for yourselves how unhinged Angela is becoming.  Here is the review and comments that set her off:

As for Angela’s own review of the author’s book, check it out.  She actually accuses the author of setting up the whole thing:

As we said, she’s jumping at shadows now, seeing BBA everywhere she goes.

A lot has been happening on GR recently, not the least of which a campaign being launched by the bullies to silence authors who speak up about the abuse on the site.  And not surprisingly, the GR mods are playing along.  But before we get into this, we have some news for you, some good, some not so good:

1. It appears as though our Twitter stalker (remember her – the one who stood in line to get concert tickets while she furiously sent us insane tweets one after the other?  Yeah, her!) has finally gotten her just desserts.  We were contacted by one of our sources who told us that she and her husband are being investigated by the police for crimes against an author (i.e. death threats, etc.):

AmandaWellingGone

AmandaWellingInvestigated

It’s true, if you check her blog and , they’re completely gone.  This isn’t the first time the bullies have physically threatened someone.  Just take a look at our post Bully Threats and you’ll see a few there.

2. An author (and her husband) who was attacked last year, with whom we have had contact ever since, has just recently reported to us that someone has been consistenly hacking her Facebook and email accounts.  She and her husband have the FBI looking into it:

EmailHacked

FBI

And again, this isn’t the first time the bullies have tried to hack into accounts (this time succeeding).  We’ve shown that they tried it on our hosting account in Bully Crime.

3. We were informed just recently that another author we know has had her books banned from Dear Author because she “associates with that site.”  Apparently Jane Litte seems to think that authors who are affiliated with our site are too much of a danger to her reviewers.  We died laughing when we heard that.  She doesn’t realize that they are a danger to themselves because of the way they behave, like harassing and baiting authors for instance (click here and scroll down to view screenshots of this).

Give it up, Janey!  Everyone knows about you and your reviewers.  They can see right through you.

4. We were given a link by a site visitor to an article written by Tamara Ward about a Q&A session between authors and GR staff.  Tamara’s post starts with this:

Hello, WG2E-land! Last week, Goodreads staff held office hours, an online session where both the Goodreads author marketing coordinator, Cynthia Shannon, and director, Patrick Brown, answered questions from writers. Writers could ask questions live or post them beforehand on the discussion thread.

I’ve tried to hit the highlights of the office hours in this post, but if you want to read the blow-by-blow, visit the group discussion on Goodreads at . Better yet, join the group at ! Though discussion on last week’s office hours has been frozen, perhaps, in the future, Goodreads staff will have another session.

If you scroll down a bit on the page, you will see that a few authors who know what’s really going on chimed in with their concerns:

If you read the Q&A session by clicking the links Tamara gives, you will notice how they conveniently avoid talking about the real problem that plagues GR, namely the GR bullies and their consistently vicious attacks on authors.

And this brings us to the point of our post.  Look at the link Rick left to a Goodreads feedback discussion called .  You’ll see some familiar names.  This is just the beginning of what appears to be a growing campaign on GR to silence authors.

Once such author, , was silenced by the GR staff when the trolls began an attack on him and then reported to him the GR mods on trumped up charges:

JoelEmail1

JoelEmail2

Why was he reported and banned?  Because he wrote blog posts (on his own blog!) speaking out about the GR/Amazon trolls:

Accused Of Spamming

The Trolls Arrive!

And the attack ensued:

Shelves

Shelves2

And then:

BanMessage

And there you have it!  GR does not allow authors freedom of speech.  If they speak up about the abuse happening on the site, they are silenced.

For tomorrow’s post, GR Silences Authors, Part 2, we will be talking more about the GR feedback discussion mentioned above called .

Stay tuned!

We just recently received this link from Goronwy (and also by email from an anon):

Slightly OT, but does anyone know what happened here?

I don’t know who Emma is.

We don’t know who Emma is, either, but apparently she is an author who started a GR feedback thread called   Her original post and comments are gone now because she deleted her account and left GR, like many authors before her.  But from what we can gather from the comments, Emma defended another author who was being attacked and then had her BOOKS labeled as BBA, whore author, attention whore, etc.  You get the picture, the bullies’ usual MO.  In one of her comments, Emma said:

This isn’t about them liking my book, I could care less. This is about being verbally assaulted. They are calling me a whore, not my book!

Do we agree with her?  Is creating BOOKshelves that verbally assault the author a form of harassment?

Answer: absolutely!  It’s the same as writing it right into the BOOK review, which the trolls did with such fervor before GR published its reviewing policy last year, attempting to put an end to author bashing in reviews.  And it didn’t even put an end to it.  Those reviews are only being hidden and some not even that, even when you flag them.  It appears from what we’ve heard that if you flag them, the person doing the flagging will get their account deleted.  Hmm…

Of course the trolls will argue that they have the right to shelve their books anyway they want.  What they don’t seem to get is that these shelves are supposed to be BOOKshelves.  Key word there: BOOK.  They’re not authorshelves.  But apparently these dumb asses can’t seem to tell the difference.

Edit 9/24/2013: We now have a screenshot of Emma’s hellish crime *sarcasm* that set off the attack below.  It was a comment she made in the GR Feedback forum where she stated she would report abusive reviews:

Emma

If you all want to read the convo from what’s left of Emma’s thread here it is:

Convo10

And this is how Kara ended the thread after Emma deleted her account and left:

Kara1

Did you all get that?  The thread was no longer productive, so she closed it.  In other words, the author bashing in this thread was over because the author had left so the thread was no longer productive, i.e., harassing/attacking/humiliating/etc. an author is considered productive on GR.

Now, we want to show you how Kara ended another thread that we featured in our post Kara Shuts Down Harassment Thread.  A little background on this post: author C.J. Anderson was being harassed by a reviewer who decided to behave like an asshole.  When C.J. couldn’t get a hold of the GR mods, she started feedback thread called .  As soon as Kara found out about it, she shut the thread down and said this:

Kara2

You see the difference between what she said on Emma’s thread and this one?  On C.J’s thread, she tried to protect a reviewer who was acting like an ass and on Emma’s thread, she shut it down because the author was no longer there to be harassed, so the thread was no longer productive.

For most of our readers here, this will not be surprising and we’re not surprised either, but quite frankly we still think this attitude toward and treatment of authors is a bunch of bullshit and we will continue to say so.

Therefore, we want to end this post by telling you a little story.  A site visitor we have come to befriend just informed us that he recently finished a book (congratulations, btw!) and was organizing a blog tour through a blog tour company.  He reads our blog religiously and told the blog tour manager about it, warning her about the GR/Amazon trolls, many of whom are blog owners.  The manager’s response was so simple and right on, we were surprised we never mentioned this fact before.  She said:

You don’t need to worry.  We don’t associate with unprofessional blog tour hosts.  Our hosts blog about books, not about the latest gossip, and they certainly don’t bash authors.  If we ever see anything like that in our hosts, we automatically take them off our recipient list and never work with them again.

And there you have it!  The words of a REAL professional.

These trolls will argue that they are not professionals and can therefore do whatever they want and treat authors any way they want, calling them whores or worse… and Goodreads allows it, even encourages it.  As Kara so subconsciously points out, it’s considered productive.  But what Goodreads is forgetting is that it IS a business (which is why Amazon bought it) and this business depends on a product: books.  The people who write those books are authors.  So, basically, Goodreads is shitting all over the very people who make their business possible.

As one of our site visitors so astutely put it:

Unprofessional, Thy Name is Goodreads!

Protected: New Bullies on the Block

Below is a post written by a site visitor who witnessed an attack and wrote about it in STGRB fashion.  Since we have been so busy lately, we want to thank this visitor for taking the time to do this.  If any of you witness something similar and want to write about it or if you just have something to say about the bullies, go for it.  Send us your thoughts, ideas, experiences, etc., and we’ll post them for you.

************************************************************************************************************

The recent attack on Hugh Howey (author of the amazingly successful Wool) glaringly illustrates a number of important lessons for independent authors.

Here is a timeline of the events:

April 3 2013

Hugh Howey makes a blog post entitled ‘The Bitch From WorldCon’.

howey1

howey2

howey3

howey4

howey5

howey6

In it, he talks about his encounter with a snake oil peddler at WorldCon. This woman was going around telling unknown writers that she could make them famous if they only listened to her. When Howey disagreed (without telling her who he was) she condescendingly dismissed him. He then proceeded to indulge in a passive aggressive fantasy about winning a Hugo and telling her to ‘suck it, bitch.’

This naturally drew a very critical response, most of it from certain, er, notorious Goodreaders, who poured onto the comments section of his Goodreads blog to attack him. The comments are fortunately (or un-) all gone now because on the 12th, Howey deleted his post and with it the comments. He replaced the offending post with an apology. That apology is now gone as well, replaced with this one.

Why? It seems the first apology was not satisfactory, and was predictably attacked by , , and .

There are doubtless many more, but these reviews and (especially) their comments will suffice. The brawl spilled over to the Amazon BBA thread, where guess who had this to say:

AnnaonHowey

But wait! There’s more!

Things wouldn’t be complete if some publicity-hungry indie didn’t try to garner some publicity at Hugh’s expense.

So what are the lessons to be learned from this?

#1 Be careful what you post on social media.

You might think you’re expressing an opinion or harmlessly venting about an unpleasant incident in which you were clearly the injured party, but not everyone is going to think so. The online bully community is made up of self-appointed gatekeepers like the ‘bitch’ from WorldCon: unsuccessful publishing industry professionals and ‘experts.’ It’s natural that they would defend one of their own and past experience has shown that they never work alone.

Howey had some fans who tried to defend him (and were shouted down) but a less successful author is in real trouble. So be careful what you do or say on social media: ‘they’ are watching. Some things, like complaining about reviews, asking people to vote on reviews, or discussing possible lawsuits, should be done in private.

#2 Aggressive-aggresive is better than passive-aggressive.

It’s baffling why Howey didn’t take the easiest route and politely inform the woman at WorldCon of his identity right then and there. Not only would he have had the satisfaction of watching her squirm, but he would have provided an invaluable service to independent authors everywhere. The world of publishing is full of self-professed ‘experts’ and gatekeepers like this woman, and many unknown authors are too inexperienced to see through them. Those indies witnessing the scene would have had the lesson brought home to them: be careful who you trust. And the snake oil peddlers who heard about it would have learned to be a lot more careful in the future: after all, you never know who you might run into when you’re at one of these conventions, trying to bamboozle authors.

Instead, Howey’s passive-aggressive reaction completely obscured the lesson, and allowed this predator to be portrayed as a victim.

#3 If you find yourself at the center of one of these bully firestorms, don’t respond and, above all, DON’T APOLOGIZE.

This case is as glaring an example as any we’ve seen that apologies don’t work. Nine times out of ten, they are deemed insincere, and provoke further attacks. And some publicity hungry indie will always find a way to ride your coattails by dissecting your apology on their blog and wagging their finger at you.

Silence is golden.

In our post, Reviewer Subterfuge, we presented you with information and screenshots showing some rather suspicious activity on a certain book after the author was attacked on Facebook, namely some suspicious one-star reviews.  More to the point, we showed you a comment outlining real (favorable) reviews left by notable reviewers like Kirkus and the Historical Novel Society.  The comment also mentioned that several of the one-star reviews on this particular book all said the same thing and then directed readers to another author who writes books in the same genre.

As a reminder, here are the shots of those reviews:

SuspiciousReviews1

HistoryLoversReview

After doing a little research through our contacts who are members of the Historical Novel Society (and who have asked to remain anonymous for their protection), we now know who the leader of the Facebook attack was.  Her name is Kathryn W., who left this review on the book page (screenshot is only partial):

KathrynsReview

So… what do all four of these reviewers have in common?

They all know each other.

What else do they have in common?

They all know Sharon Kay P.

Gee, what a surprise.

In fact, Sharon Kay P. is one of the principal supporters of Kathryn’s campaign called Don’t Defame the Dead 1 and 2 that was created to condemn people who write books that they consider to “defame the dead.”  Hmm… much like they claim Ashe’s Montfort does.

As for Sharon’s support of Kathryn’s campaign, you might want to take a look at this:

Is this all starting to become clearer now?

****************************************************************************************************

An addendum:

Woah!  I think we’ve got another Somerloon on our hands, folks!  Why do I say that?  Keep reading.

We just recently received this comment by Member of HNS:

Reading the comments on Kathryn’s review, I thought she was a teenager by the way she was acting, but then I looked at her Facebook page. She’s an old woman!

MoHNS isn’t kidding.  When we started reading up on this woman, we thought she was in her teens, or maybe early 20’s because of her juvenile behavior.  When we found out how old she is, we were floored.  If you want to get a look at this lady, here’s a link to her .  She looks to be about 50.

We’re certain this is her twitter because of this:

STGRBIsVile1

(Her friend is right.  There is a mole in their little DDTD group and boy did we get some interesting information from this person!)

So… we’re vile, vicious, and thoroughly stupid and ignorant.

*snort*

Okay, Kathryn.  If you say so.

Aw, what’s wrong?  You angry because we exposed your dirty little scheme to discredit an author because she dared to have a different view of history than you?  You pissed because we showed everyone your my-view-of-history-is-the-only-correct-view-or-else attitude?  You want to know what our site visitors think of your attitude?  Check out this comment from Anon:

This whole idea of “don’t defame the dead” is ludicrous. There are as many interpretations of the past as there are historical records of it. Just look at how many different interpretations of the Bible there are. Anyone who considers her view of the past as the “correct” view is fooling herself. There is no such thing.

You know what, Kathryn?  Anon is right.  If you think your interpretation of the past is the only true and correct one, you’re deluding yourself.

And you can say whatever you want about us, the facts will still remain the facts.  And one of those facts is that Katherine Ashe has behaved with so much more integrity than you.  It’s really unbelievable how childish you have been.

And if our readers think this is bad, they will want to take a look at this comment from a different Anon:

I don’t think she’s just acting like an adolescent.  I think she’s a bit crazy.  Have you seen the comments she’s been leaving on people’s reviews?  Check out Chris’s review.  She’s also obsessed with votes on her own review.  This woman needs help.

This is what Anon is referring to – these comments left on Chris’s review, which were pulled by Amazon right after we reported them for abuse (screenshot sent to us by Chris):

We’re not sure how Melissa got dragged into this, but we think it has something to do with the Amazon trolls.  They consistently blame her for our site no matter how many times we’ve said that we’re not authors.  In this case, they think Chris is Melissa and again they’re getting it wrong.  But Kathryn, not even knowing who Melissa is, or even who Chris is for that matter, called Melissa a “sad, tragic, pathetic loser.”

This.  Is.  Crazy!

And this is a woman whose buddy (one of the nasties whose comment got deleted from our blog) described Kathryn as having a “good name and excellent standing in the History community.”

Wow!  I think I’m going to stay far away from the History community.  And that’s assuming her buddy got it right and she wasn’t referring to the “Hysterical community” which would be much more fitting, I think.  She fits right in with the rest of the Amazon trolls.

Watch out for this one, folks!  She’s a nutter.
